The Rubbermaid Commercial Brute container is a round, 10-gallon, injection-molded LLDPE container imprinted with the words "Ice Only." LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene) has greater resistance to dents, cracks, punctures, and ultraviolet (UV) rays than LDPE (low-density polyethylene). The container has a reinforced rim for added strength, built-in non-slip handles for nesting multiple containers without jamming when storing, and a double-ribbed base for stability. This product measures 17.13" high and 15.63" in diameter and has a capacity of 10 gallons. It is free of BPA (Bisphenol A) to address food safety concerns raised by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other organizations. It meets National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) Standard 2 for use in food handling and processing and NSF/ANSI Standard 21 as a thermoplastic garbage can intended for the indoor or outdoor storage of refuse. It is included in the list of accepted meat and poultry equipment published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service.
Trash cans are used for the disposal and temporary storage of garbage. They are typically made of plastic or metal and sometimes have a top or lid to contain odors and waste. Certain garbage cans meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for the disposal of medical waste or National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) requirements for food handling and processing. Other waste containers include a lock to prevent unauthorized access, safeguard confidential materials, and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements. Waste bins can also be color-coded to facilitate the separation of recyclable waste, such as bottles, cans, paper, and general refuse. Ash/trash can receptacles typically include an ashtray on top for cigarette disposal. Trash cans are used in virtually all commercial and industrial environments.
Rubbermaid manufactures cleaning, organizing, and material handling products for commercial, medical, and industrial applications. The company, founded in 1933, is headquartered in Huntersville, NC.
